I recently bought a Snuggly, (I never write reviews).
After being on the losing end of a cone war with my old Golden, and then several days and long nights of rigging t-shirts to keep her abdominal incisions clean and protected, I knew I had to find something better. This fit the bill. In every way! It's super easy to put on, take off, and adjust for bathroom breaks. It's washable and you can throw it in the dryer. It's breathable and judging from my girl's sleeping positions, very comfortable. The chart to find her size was spot on-it fits perfectly. And yes, if she wanted to, she could still lick the spot covering the incisions but she doesn't seem to want to (but will readily lick them once the Snuggly is removed). The cost is well worth it, and very reasonable anyway. The lack of bruising to everyone's legs, no marks on the walls and the ability to drink whenever she wants is worth even a much higher price. I've shown this awesome product off to several colleagues and they were very impressed (I'm a veterinarian-I know the struggles and importance of protecting incisions from persistent patients). Buy. This. Product.
I tried lots of products and ideas to try to keep a diaper on my aging English Bulldog. Nothing worked until I found the Surgi Snuggly. And she looks really cute wearing it!
I recently purchased the Surgi Snuggly, Wonder Suit to keep my dog's diaper from falling off. It works great! And my dog doesn't mind having it on. She is 14 and I think it eases her anxiety. I highly recommend it!
I was tired of having to readjust my dogs diaper, so I purchased this. The stretchy material keeps my dogs diaper in place. Keep in mind that this is made out of lycra, so it's not absorbent. I plan on buying more, so I can change them out when washing them.
This product has been a life saver for me. My pup is a senior dog that has bladder issues. She also has no tail so dog diapers slip off when the become to wet or if she’s moving around a lot. This product holds them in place. It’s thin & stretchy. She moves around comfortably. When it’s time to change her or take her for a walk it’s easy to roll up the back without taking off the whole thing. So happy I found this product. Gives me peice of mind when I’m at work that there won’t be any accidents. I never thought I’d put clothes on my dog especially with her heavy coat but this has been a great purchase for our old pup
Our 6-month-old Goldendoodle just got spayed. We hated the thought of using a cone so we ordered the snuggly. It has been perfect for her. She has not been stressed at all with wearing it.
No more wee wee pads or messes on my floors! Keeps my incontinent 15 year old collie mix from accidentally peeing on the floors. I've washed it twice..fits great and kept its shape. I use two adult incontinence pads and it works great overnight!
I absolutely LOVE this product my dog has become incontinent. She has been sleeping with us since she's a puppy and she's now 9 so no way of breaking that habit. I've tried every contraption under the sun and she Houdini's out of it. I was trying to save money but ended up spending more in so doing. Thank you for a product that actually works and is comfortable. If you look at my one attachment you will see I just put pads right onto the snuggly. Maybe you could create one with a mesh pocket for the pad.
Again, Thank You for a wonderful product.

This worked out perfectly! So much better than wearing the cone of shame. My dog wore his plum leotard around the neighborhood with pride. Highly recommended.
The best ever!!! I love it so much and am so thankful to have come across this listing!! I will order more!!! She can not get it off and it has saved my white carpet!!
We just received our snuggly. Blue is just fine, it's nothing some girlie iron-on patches can't improve. It fits perfectly and is very soft and light. So far we are happy with this product. Our pretty pit already fell asleep in it. She loves to cuddle and be held, and I think this snug hugs her perfectly, helping her relax. Hopefully it will make her bed rest easier to accomplish. Thank you for being so involved in our purchase and for the complimentary nail file.
I've ordered three Snugglie's from you in the past few weeks, the first one was a little too snug (it's giving our chubby Boston a complex) so we ordered another large, and that one is on its way. We have two older male Boston Terriers who are having marking issues but when they are wearing the Snugglie's they don't mark at all. They are comfortable and a great solution (believe me, we tried EVERYTHING!). We don't even have to add the diaper or pad, just covering them up stops them from going.
Just wanted to let you know why we ordered three. When the large arrives, I'm donating the medium to our local shelter for pups that need it following surgery. Thanks for making a great product, I do wish it shipped a little faster though - but they are worth the wait. Have you thought about accessories? For instance, offering an attachable Velcro sleeve for dogs with leg licking or other leg issues? Just a thought :)
Thanks so much!
We have a larger long hair (crazy too) dachshund and it just barely fits with all his hair but it worked. He has never been house broken but we tired over 9 years. Just got a rescue mini who is house broken so the two can now play in the house. Glad it is super stretchy and he doesn't even really notice it as it is too much fun running the house with the new pup.
The Surgi Snuggly has made me the happiest doggy mommy ever! My poor little Yorky has always had a problem with leakage. She pees in her sleep and doesn't even know she's done it. We'd had enough and I finally decided she was going to have to wear diapers. She was destroying our house, our furniture, everything she touched. However, the diapers just wouldn't stay on. I finally created something and it did keep the diaper on, however not well. And she wasn't very comfortable. She didn't want to run and play like usual. She would walk, but that was about it. So I was determined that there had to be something out there at would keep the diaper on. I discovered the snuggly and ordered it.
I have to admit I was skeptical. I thought it was going to be big and bulky, that she would be hot and not like it. The snuggly came within 2 days of ordering it and my dog has not stopped smiling and neither have I. She LOVES IT!! She is running and jumping just like normal. The material is so soft, comfortable and stretchy that I'm not sure she even knows its on. My precious baby is back to normal and now we will have a clean house again! I couldn't be happier and will definitely be ordering a couple more.
Thanks for inventing this wonderful product for dogs that desperately need to wear a diaper. You have made our lives so much more liveable and I know this snuggly has extended my babies life.
I volunteer at a local shelter walking dogs and have seen the dreaded e-collar/cone in action. When I scheduled Bella for spaying, our vet said she would have to wear the e-collar after surgery, and she would get used to it. Two days prior to surgery I tried putting one on Bella. She wouldn't sit still, and once I got it on she was banging into walls until she sat down, head bowed, as if to say, "did I do something wrong, is that why you are punishing me"? The sad look on her face prompted me to look for an alternative, and that's how I found your product. I called you in a panic on Tuesday and you assured me I would have the Snuggly by Thursday when Bella's spaying was going to take place. She came home on Thursday and I slipped the Snuggly on her. She's been unable to lick the wound site and seems very comfortable wearing it. It also keeps her a bit warmer in the freezing NY temperatures we've been experiencing.
Thanks very much for your help !
This item was great. It gave my puppy a sense of security after she was spayed and helped prevent her from scratching her incision site.
My dog was spayed and had several tumors removed from under her nipples, and ended up with four stitched lines on her tummy. I got this to use instead of the cone of shame (which she hates and figured out how to get around for licking anyway). This thing was so much better than I expected. She normally has to wear a diaper at night to keep her from peeing in the house, but she's an expert at getting out of them - by rubbing them off, chewing through them, stretching out of them. She's like a little doggie Houdini. Yet she couldn't figure out a way to get this off, or even budge it. And believe me, she tried. It was pretty entertaining to watch. It was comfortable, very stretchy, but still fit snuggly enough that it didn't move around. The straps were super easy to velcro up when she needed to go out to do her business, and just as easily put back around her. It was a little tricky getting her front legs in the holes the first couple times, especially with her standing as stiff as possible to make it hard for us. After that we just left it on her for the two weeks she needed to not lick. (This goes on similar to a t-shirt, head first, then stretched to fit the front legs through the leg holes, and pulled down over the rest of the body. The material actually feels a lot like a stretchy t-shirt.) I was worried it might rub the stitched areas on her tummy, since the cloth ends near her back nipples, but it didn't seem to bother her at all. It did rub off the hair in a tiny area on her chest where the neck hole touched and under her front armpits, but not enough to create any sore areas. She's a Queensland Heeler (cattle dog) who's about 45 pounds, and the X-Large fit just right. It allows her to move comfortably and didn't pinch anywhere.
We have an elderly female dog who has to wear dog diapers while we're at work and overnight in our house (learned this the hard way after 2 carpets were ruined). I had a doggie diaper holder that had several flaps and Velcro, and it had to come off totally to get her diaper off. At 2 in the morning, having to do that got me so awake that I couldn't get back to sleep. But this is excellent. It holds the diaper on so that she can wriggle out of it, but the back flap comes up so I can take the diaper off and let her walk around outside without it. No need to take the "wrap" entirely off and then put the whole contraption back on again. Love this! And our dog seems to like it too! It's very soft and stretchy.
Brought my girl home from hospital today brought this with me to the vet so she could wear it home, fit perfectly (thank you customer service) and so far it is working like a charm. My vet LOVED it and had me send pic for her to show other docs that weren't there when I picked her up. The more people that discover this will make the cone of shame obsolete. Would highly recommend.
The surgi-snuggly package just arrived (the overnight USPS delivery on a Saturday worked great!). It fits perfectly and I'm so glad to be able to take the e-collar off Narla to let her be able to recover from this next round of surgery. In true dachshund style after putting it on and without her bulky e-collar she was finally able to burrow under her blankets and she did exactly that, surgi-snuggly intact, so I can relax knowing she won't be chewing or licking her stitches but is much more comfy.
I was so glad I found you, and I was so grateful for your helpful assistance on the phone yesterday in determining the best size for Narla and figuring out best shipping for me to get it overnight today. Thank you ever so much.
PS action shot attached-about as much as I saw of her before she could finally burrow under her blankets!
I knew my dog would want to lick his multiple incision sites on his torso from have some warts removed, but I just couldn't bear the thought of making him wear the dreaded cone. This has been the perfect solution! He hasn't shown any signs of annoyance with it whatsoever, which makes us both happy. The only negative for me is having to roll it up for every potty break, but I understand why it's necessary since you would need that area covered after spay or neutering. Overall, I think it's a genius design! My dog is a large frame, pudgy Shih Tzu who weighs 23 lbs. I bought the Medium Long and it fits perfectly. The size chart was very accurate for him. The company website explains that the only difference in a Short, Regular, or Long in any given size is the length of the straps. But if the straps are a bit long you can just put a loose knot in them to shorten. Big thumbs up from us and our vet approves of it too!
Update: This has been a huge success for us. Maybe the slight compression helps the stitches itch less, because my dog has never shown the slightest interest in trying to get at them through the suit. The big bonus for us is that he's always been a nervous dog who is easily frightened, but he's been much calmer and more relaxed since we got this. He's even sleeping better at night! It's quite obvious from his demeanor that he loves wearing this, and we're considering even letting him wear it for awhile longer after his last stitches and staples come out. It looks ridiculous, but it's worth it if it makes him feel safer. Just as a warning though, I tried it on my other Shih Tzu and she hated it with a passion! It can be a little confusing and awkward to put on but isn't so bad once you get the hang of it. The only real downside is still the fact that you have to roll it up and then back down again for potty breaks, but it's very quick and easy. You could use diapers with it if you preferred. It also needs to be laundered every few days, so we found it easiest to purchase a spare.
My dog unfortunately never got potty trained, this has led to us having to put him in closed off rooms when we are away and watch him very closely. Other diapers have never worked, he managed to always get them off or at least enough to mark. This diaper makes it impossible and he seems to be marking less. I just put a pad into the diaper half tucked in the tummy part and half stuck on the strap that goes over the tail and under the belly and NOTHING gets out, I don't even have to worry about him sitting on my bed or anything- it stays clean.
The only problem was that I had to cut the tail hole bigger so it didn't bother him but other than that this product is great and worth the money! I think this should go into every pet store in America !!! You should go on shark tank this product could replace all belly bands and dog diapers out there.
My 15 year old Boston terrier has lost bladder control and started peeing on my carpet. I’m so thankful I found the Surgi Snuggly. It keeps diaper on, is easy to get on and off or un velcro quickly for potty breaks. It’s soft and dog loves it! HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Well made and worth the price.
I was just about to go to the clothing stores to purchase some small tee shirts and Scrunchie ties for our 6 month old puppy who was going to be having her spay surgery and an umbilical hernia repair. But my Vet's office told me about the Surgi-snuggly that Kona would be coming home in.
IT IS A WONDERFUL PRODUCT! It is time someone has come up with an alternative to the plastic collar. Kona is now two days post-op and she has not been at all interested in her incision and the flexibility of the material allows her to feel comfortable yet completely mobile. If I were to make a suggestion it would be that you also offer ones that end just at the tip of the tail as
we have found that we are not using the rear coverage but just leave that part secure in the Velcro pocket on top of Kona's back .....the reason being that Kona is like a little kid...she waits until the last moment to let us know she has to go potty so there is not time enough to undo the back portion and get her outside quickly enough. Please understand...this is not a complaint about the product but merely a
suggestion for yet another style of your current product. I will try to send a photo of our Kona being fashionable and secure in her Surgi-snuggly.
Great innovative way to replace the bulky cone. Small beloved dog 17lbs almost 3y old, swallows a piece of rubber bone toy, gets stuck in its intestines, dog gets sick, x-rays, surgery, the plastic collar is a nightmare, wife found this costume which got shipped the next day. Everyone is happy and can sleep at night while the dog is healing and recovering. Tomorrow it has been 2 weeks, stitches come out and the dog will soon be allowed to jump and play (selected toys only). We are grateful with the costume and it’s a keeper for future needs. Sometimes he develops eczema bursts from allergies and have to apply ointment, this costume can be used to prevent the dog licking the ointment. The material is similar to runners t-shirts, silky, elastic, snug, and fits comfortably. I think it helped with anxiety too. Very cute blue and red colors, it reminds me Superman costume :) what not to love?
So worth it!! We had the plastic cone, he chewed it. Then we had the zen inner tube cone, he chewed that too..this suit is super cozy and convenient for post surgery ..I’m also able to secure a pad on the inside along his surgical site to absorb fluid that leaks out ..he completely leaves his incisions alone..when it’s time to go potty I just unlatch the Velcro and roll up his body ...easy to hand wash and dry quick in a low dryer due to material..my dog is a super chewer and hasn’t tried to chew this suit off or get to his wounds.. highly recommended for post surgery or any skin infection or itching detterent ..also my friend uses when her dogs in heat to avoid an oops litter and to keep diapers in place ..Remington is 1 and weighs 145lbs.. 34 inches neck to tail and is wearing a 2XL
I have a rescued female chihuahua that was raised with a male dog. She likes to “mark” in the house and diapers wouldn’t stay on her. The Surgi Snuggly fit perfectly and I put a small panty liner inside to catch her mistakes. It’s been wonderful not having to look for her markings and continually clean my floors. She has only wet the pad one time so far! She enjoys wearing it too, I think it makes her feel secure.
A recent review of the Surgi Snuggly!
" Have many friends in the Vet community, from the Vets to the Vet techs. I find the E collar a horrible solution to an already stressful situation with a spay or neuter on a pet. So with the recent spay of my German Shepherd, I decided to give this a go. It is the most wonderful product there is. She did not lick, bite or chew. It holds up beautifully through several trips threw the washer and dryer, and holds its shape so well. I have had several pets and foster animals go threw the "cone of shame" and it's so upsetting to see how uncomfortable they are. I knew there had to be a better way, and this product was worth EVERY PENNY. Best part is.. after spay recovery is over.. it comes in handy. Trips in the car are more relaxing. Since she is a shepherd, it also helps contain hair going all over in car. She's anxious, put it on her and she calms down. Wonderful wonderful product and I thank the Vet who came up with this! The Snuggly is also very easy to fix for those needed potty breaks. Velcro is very strong.. Would recommend to friends, strangers, Vet offices, it's just a beautiful product "
I Received these photos from Dr. Lara yesterday. The Snuggly was used on this dog after an amputation. The snuggly has been used after amputation on a cat once as well.
Send me your photos Docs!
This is exactly why the Snuggly was created, it gives you an excellent base product with which to work! Use as is or as modified to accomplish your specific needs!
In my years of practice, one phrase I hear time and time again is "I don't have to use that plastic cone-thing, right?"
As a private practitioner and surgeon, most of my patients would require an E-collar to prevent chewing or licking at an incision. All too often I would have owners call me regarding their pet's reddened or opened incision. I could empathize - I wouldn't want that large, ugly, plastic piece on my pet's neck, banging up the walls, hitting my leg, and making it seem my pet couldn't eat or drink regularly. When I was first introduced to the Surgi Snuggly, I was an immediate fan. Finally, a product that would physically cover my patient's incision and prevent physical trauma due to licking/chewing. It also brought comfort to the patient with its snug fit and breathable fabric. The big perks: it's totally washable and comes in multiple sizes.
The Surgi Snuggly is great for my routine surgeries - spays, neuters, abdominal procedures (exploratories, gastropexies, etc). It has also been a lifesaver for my Big Dog Little Dog patients. We've all had them - the dogs with multiple puncture wounds, multiple drains, and it is not feasible to wrap the entire torso every day to keep it clean and dry and tamper-proof.
I recently had a 7 lb poodle attacked by a large dog, and its wound spanned from it's dorsal shoulder to lateral thorax behind its elbow. After major reconstructive surgery, we placed a Surgi Snuggly on the dog to allow the drains to do their job and to prevent the dog from scratching at its repair. The owner loved the Surgi Snuggly - he would wash it every day and replace it on his dog. The dog seemed at ease, rested comfortably, and healed without complications within two weeks. I use it also on my feline patients with drains from abscess surgeries. Again, it allows the drains to function but not impede the patient from daily activities. Additionally, I do offer the standard e-collar to my clients but also discuss the benefits of the Surgi Snuggly. More times than not, I have owners elect the Surgi Snuggly. It is well accepted by owners and patients, and I am so grateful this product has hit the market. Compliance post-surgery is much higher with the Surgi Snuggly than with the e-collar, and that is what helps my patients recover faster!
Thanks again- Lara Chambers, DVM Lance Animal Hospital Gainesville, GA
I am a Veterinarian. I recently ordered your Surgi-Snuggly for my Silken Windhound for her post-spay recovery. Silkens go absolutely nuts with E-collars.
I am thrilled! We are 2 days post-surgery now and it has been fabulous. As Silkens are such Drama Queens, for the first half hour she was sure that she was paralyzed and could not move. But then she settled right in with it. She had already been licking her incision before I put it on, so I know that it has deterred her.
I have already been telling people about it. The Silken online list serve is always looking for new options for post-surgical recovery. They are going to be very pleased. I am the immediate past-President of our local VMA, so I will tell our membership about it as well. And our doggie-daycare owner' trainer also wants to check it out for her clients.
Thank you for a much-needed and well-designed product!

Samantha had a liver biopsy on November 27, the day before Thanksgiving.
I brought her home wearing the e-collar. She slept most of Thanksgiving but on Friday she was awake, although still groggy and in pain. Wearing the e-collar, she stared at the walls and generally bumped into everything.
She was miserable and so was I.
I began searching the Internet and came across your site. I wanted the item right away and used your list of companies/vets that carried the products to find a location from which I could buy one. I found a local vet that had "two." I purchased the largest they had which was XLS--it was a bit too small but it worked. (Samantha is a small Weimarner, 58 lbs--her measurement place her in the XL Long.)
Thank you for your list that enabled me to obtain my "Surgi-Snuggly" the same day. Samantha has worn her snug garment everyday for the last week--I have washed and dried it many times and I can still squeeze her into it(although one of the arm holes ripped due to her size)---the stretchy fabric is wonderful.
I have just purchased two XL long this morning from your website. This garment has been one of the best investments I have made.
Samantha and I give you our heartfelt thanks.
" Our newly acquired rescue dog—a pointer—has a significant tail injury. Our vet gave a “guarded” prognosis about saving the dog’s tail but agrees that this sweet dog deserves a chance to heal—before giving serious thought about amputating it. Complications arise when the dog’s “happy tail” sends the bandage flying across the room—exposing several inches of his raw tail to infection, continual bleeding, and re-injury. The other day, we found him nibbling at his tail.
So please understand our excitement about Surgi-Snuggly. What a great design with such great needs! We’re grateful for the personal phone calls/e-mails helping determine how best to adapt Surgi-Snuggly to this particular wound. And, you’ve thought of everything: it’s so practical that dogs can wear Surgi-Snuggly all the time—and when necessary, all we have to do is open the back flap—for easy potty breaks and extended outdoor play time. It’s surely a win: win situation.
We remain confident that this lightweight body suit will give our dog both the time and protection to encourage revitalization of skin cell growth. Your product answers owners’ and vets’ dilemmas about managing injuries and post-op recovery while keeping pets comfortable without disrupting daily routines. Also, your website forum is a valuable resource--further showing your genuine care about the wellness of all our pets.
Thank you for the personal attention you gave us. Please know that we will tell our vet(s) and friends about Surgi-Snuggly."
Indy had a spot on his back he wouldn’t stop licking. I’ve had trouble fitting him for similar items, but this fit perfectly. It’s not over his tail in the picture because he was about to go outside. Even without it fastened, his sore was covered and the Wonder didn’t ride up. His sore started to heal within a day. We’d used a cone before with him and Indy figured out how it could help him dig up the yard faster, so this was a great alternative.
I recently purchased the Surgi Snuggly for my baby boy Roo, he had to get a neuter *ouch* I must say this product is excellent! My baby Roo was comfortable and I didnt feel like I was traumatizing him while he rested and recovered! I am soooo happy to have found this website and the Surgi Snuggly :)
Thanks guys, seriously well done!
